Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Marketing Intern for the Impact Studio at Oregon State University (OSU).

We are seeking a motivated Marketing Intern to support our outreach efforts through a mix of digital and in-person campaigns.

The Marketing Intern will assist in developing and implementing digital and in-person marketing campaigns to promote Impact Studio’s projects and initiatives. The intern will work closely with team members to create engaging content for social media, websites, print publications, and event marketing, applying market research to enhance communication strategies.

The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who excels in both digital content creation and in-person engagement, understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in marketing, and enjoys working in a start-up and team-oriented environment.

Position Duties

Create and manage content for social media, websites, newsletters, and print publications that aligns with OSU’s and Impact Studio’s brand and messaging.

Conduct market research to inform marketing strategies and campaign planning.

Develop and plan marketing strategies and campaigns to effectively promote Impact Studio’s initiatives and enhance engagement.

Support in-person marketing campaigns, including event planning, tabling, and promotional outreach on campus.

Create content that connects with target audiences across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, print materials, e-newsletters, and online articles.

Managing and growing Impact Studio’s YouTube channel by creating and uploading engaging video content.

Work with OSU staff, faculty, and students on marketing projects to support the promotion of programs and initiatives.

Track and report on marketing performance metrics to evaluate success and improve strategies.

Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a timely manner.

Apply principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all marketing efforts.

Meet a consistent goal of posting and updating Impact Studio’s social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn) at least twice per week.

Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for social media and digital campaigns.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the

Office of International Services

(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital/Multimedia Communications, or a related field.

One year of experience in digital communication or content creation (e.g., social media, website updates, or electronic newsletters).

Experience creating content for social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

Strong writing skills for creating content across digital and print media.

Experience conducting basic market research and applying findings to campaign strategies.

Ability to adapt tone and voice to different platforms and target audiences.

Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines for time-critical projects.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and as part of a team.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in marketing content and campaigns.

Basic understanding of SEO principles and how to optimize content for search visibility.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience with video content creation and editing using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie and CapCut, or similar platforms.

Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.

Experience creating accessible and inclusive digital content.

Experience with in-person marketing and event promotion, including campus tabling, presentations, and collaborating with student organizations.

Knowledge of design thinking or innovation process
