Your Part in It Working from our global headquarters in downtown Chicago, we are looking for our next Carrier Sales Manager.
You will oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with both new and established carriers/vendors. You will also ensure that the carrier sales representatives are effectively prospecting new carriers/vendors, and monitor individual and team performance levels to meet company objectives
Carrier Sales Manager What the Job Entails
Assist in the negotiation of competitive rates while staying current on market trends and pricing
Ensure that communication of load details and shipment parameters to carrier dispatch and drivers throughout the lifespan of the shipment is in compliance
Oversee the monitoring of shipments on a daily basis to ensure coverage, on-time performance and address any in-transit issues
Effectively manage the communication of load statuses, issues and concerns to sales representatives in a timely and effective manner
Assist the team in learning and implementing effective sales skills
Hire, train, and develop new team members
What We Are Looking For
5-7 years of previous Carrier Sales experience within a 3PL environment, with a minimum of 2 years at a managerial level.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong negotiation skills; attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized
Flexibility/willingness to take responsibility for shipments outside of normal business hours
Team-oriented while being self-motivated and hardworking
Highly motivated to succeed and the ability to thrive in a competitive environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to remain persistent and positive
