The University of Rhode Island enrolls approximately 17,000 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs and is the state's flagship public research university, as well as the land- grant and sea-grant university, for the state of Rhode Island. This is a full time in person position with a hybrid/remote schedule of 2 days a week possible immediately upon start date with supervisors permission.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Work as part of the Publications and Creative Services team in a collaborative and deadline-driven environment to produce high-quality print and digital/online university materials, including managing production from inception to delivery. Work with university constituents and departments to maximize marketing and communications outreach efforts that meet strategic objectives. Set the editorial vision and voice for university publications/materials and develop content that resonates with diverse audiences, including prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, and community stakeholders. Ensure the timely delivery of communication and marketing publications/materials that enhance stakeholders' understanding of the university's mission and uphold the university's brand and editorial standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and serve as project lead, initiating contact with university clients and collaborating with Publications and Creative Services production coordinator, designers, and photographer to ensure timely adherence to production schedules.

Organize and present content and guide the content selection process. Proofread, fact-check, and edit copy for clarity, grammar, and accuracy.

Coordinate university messaging and contribute to campaign planning in collaboration and consultation with other marketing and communications staff, including brand marketing and advertising, social media, web communications, public information/media relations, and alumni magazine.

Working within client budget parameters and adhering to URI and state of Rhode Island purchasing regulations, write job production specifications, solicit bids/quotes, and select vendors.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the editor-in-chief of the University of Rhode Island Magazine (alumni publication), serving as copy editor and proofreader as assigned.

Serve as a creative partner with graphic design staff to set, execute, and achieve client objectives.

Write and coordinate other editorial jobs for Publications and Creative Services, as assigned.

Perform additional duties as requested.

Position description

The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking highly motivated individuals for the position of Junior or Assistant Specialist. The positions are to assist in research in economic development, labor, and health economics, applying rigorous methods for causal inference and machine learning .

The Institute for Business and Social Impact (IBSI) was launched in November 2013 at the Haas School of Business to train and empower leaders to address society's most pressing challenges. As part of the top-ranked Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, IBSI advances pioneering research at the intersection of business and social impact, with particular focus on workforce skills development, financial inclusion, and mental health in organizational settings. The candidate would work at the Haas School of Business IBSI under the supervision of Laura Chioda (manager) and Professor Paul Gertler.

General Duties:

Research Design & Analysis (20%): Assist in designing and interpreting analyses using advanced econometric methods, including reduced form approaches (difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity, instrumental variables) and structural econometrics (method of moments, maximum likelihood, dynamic programming), with a focus on causal inference.

Data Collection & Field Operations (15%): Support the design and implementation of field experiments, survey development, and primary data collection activities; monitor data quality and coordinate with field teams to ensure research protocols are followed.

Data Management & Programming (20%): Write efficient, well-documented code to manipulate large datasets and implement complex analyses; maintain data infrastructure using collaborative and replicable programming practices.

Quality Assurance & Documentation (15%): Clean and validate data, identify and resolve technical issues with datasets or code, and maintain comprehensive documentation of all research procedures and analytical decisions.

Research Communication (10%): Prepare materials for research manuscripts, project reports, and presentations; generate publication-ready tables, graphs, and visualizations that effectively communicate findings.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing (20%): Work closely with faculty, research team members, and external collaborators to advance ongoing analyses, share methodological expertise, and contribute to the broader research agenda.

Executive Director of the California Poison Control System (CPCS)

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Clinical Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy is seeking an experienced clinician to serve as the full-time faculty Executive Director of the California Poison Control System (CPCS) at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, In-Residence, Ladder-Rank, or Professor of Clinical Pharmacy faculty series, commensurate with the candidate''s expertise and experience.

The Executive Director provides scientific, managerial, and strategic planning leadership for the CPCS with the major goals of initiating and supporting research initiatives, unifying the geographically disparate clinical sites, developing educational and training opportunities, and integrating poison control into the School of Pharmacy and fostering collaborations within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy in coordination with the Department Chair. He/she will develop and sustain an outstanding research program that enhances the scientific understanding and practice of poison control, drug toxicities and adverse drug reactions, and will generally serve as the Principal Investigator/Project Director for CPCS contracts and grants following UCSF policies. This position will work in alignment with the Chief Operating Officer (COO), who is responsible for day-to-day management of CPCS operations, including human, financial, and physical resources. Working with the COO, the clinical executive director will be responsible for achieving system goals and objectives ensuring that the system maintains regional poison center designation and accreditation with financial sustainability. The CPCS Executive Director, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, leads the CPCS Executive Committee with supervision of the Managing Directors, health education team, and close collaboration with the Medical Directors.

The successful applicant will actively contribute to the research and teaching missions of the UCSF School of Pharmacy commensurate with their faculty rank, including maintaining a robust, extramurally funded research program that aligns with the research priorities of the School. The Executive Director will serve as an Associate Dean in the UCSF School of Pharmacy.

Required Qualifications

PharmD or other pharmacy training/degree
Research expertise in scientific areas relevant to poison control, such as toxicology, adverse drug effects, pharmacoepidemiology, or health services research
Expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams and collaboration across multiple-stakeholders in a complex healthcare system
Expertise supporting research, educational, and training initiatives and a strong track record of publications and external funding
Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills

The California Poison Control System (CPCS) was founded in 1997 to centralize poisoning advice and prevention services in California. The mission of CPCS is to prevent an increase in non-fatal poisonings and poisoning deaths, in conjunction with saving Californians millions of dollars in unnecessary health care cost. CPCS serves all Californians through a toll-free number, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and is a major provider of poison control services in the United States. CPCS operates call center divisions in Sacramento, Fresno/Madera, San Francisco and San Diego, and supports teaching and research with UCSF. CPCS is located in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy in the UCSF School of Pharmacy.

Master’s degree or equivalent post-graduate work
Experience working in higher education.
Experience working in campus-wide IT organization.
Experience with OnBase workflow software.
Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional
Experience leading data platform modernization using tools like Snowflake, Databricks or other cloud data management platforms.
Experience making applications accessible to faculty, staff, or students with disabilities related to Section 508 standards
Experience developing clear and comprehensive service and support procedures with associated documentation
Experience in evaluation of enterprise applications for procurement
Familiarity with AI/ML tools or platforms in a higher ed or enterprise context
Demonstrated experience leading and developing other leaders and staff in a collective bargaining environment.
Experience managing CRM lifecycle and implementation in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., CRM related to Prospective Student, Applicants, Student Success, Philanthropic efforts etc.).
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and maintenance contracts.
