Assistant Marching Band Director – Seasonal Position
Wilton High School
, part of the Wilton Public Schools district, is seeking a qualified and dependable
Assistant Marching Band Director
to support the Wilton High School Marching Band for the upcoming fall season. This is a
seasonal, stipend-based position
supporting a competitive high school marching band program. The marching band rehearses
two weekday afternoons per week
, participates in a
required two-week Band Camp held in mid-August
, and performs on
Saturdays during scheduled performances and competitions
. The Assistant Marching Band Director works under the supervision of the Head Band Director and in accordance with Wilton Public Schools policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with full ensemble rehearsals and sectional instruction Reinforce music fundamentals, ensemble balance, blend, and timing Support marching fundamentals and implementation of the seasonal show Assist with rehearsal management, student supervision, and accountability Attend and assist at all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and competitions Attendance at the full two-week Band Camp held in mid-August is required Attendance at all home football games is required Attendance at all competitive marching band competitions is required Collaborate with instructional staff to support program goals and continuous improvement Qualifications: Background in music education or marching band performance Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills Experience with competitive marching band programs preferred Wilton Public Schools is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all qualified persons.
