
Benefits Specialist

The Benefits Analyst supports the design, administration, and analysis of employee benefits programs for our client. This role ensures that benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while providing analytical support, reporting, and recommendations to HR leadership. The Benefits Analyst collaborates with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to ensure effective benefits administration and positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Analyze benefits utilization, trends, and costs to support strategic decision-making and cost management. Maintain benefits data and reporting within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Assist with annual open enrollment planning, communications, and system configuration. Serve as liaison with benefits vendors, brokers, and internal departments to resolve benefits issues and improve service delivery. Conduct market benchmarking and research to ensure benefits offerings remain competitive. Monitor regulatory compliance with federal and state laws including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related regulations. Develop and maintain benefits documentation, policies, and procedures. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for HR leadership regarding benefits performance and participation. Provide guidance to employees regarding benefit programs and eligibility. Support audits and ensure data accuracy in payroll and benefits systems. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration, HR analytics, or compensation and benefits analysis. Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience using HRIS systems and data tools. Knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA). Advanced Excel skills preferred. Professional certifications such as
CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR , or similar are preferred. Data analysis and reporting Benefits program administration HRIS and payroll systems knowledge Compliance and regulatory knowledge Strong communication and problem-solving skills Typically a
