Summary
The SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant will support project initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures by working with cross-functional teams to implement and integrate SAP financial systems. This role requires deep hands-on experience in SAP financial modules and the ability to analyze complex financial data, develop functional specifications, and support system changes. The consultant will collaborate with business users and IT teams to ensure successful system integration, compliance with financial regulations, and smooth project execution.
Responsibilities
Support SAP system integration activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Work with a multi-disciplinary user base to gather requirements and support system change initiatives.
Develop functional specifications for SAP financial system enhancements and integrations.
Configure and support SAP FI and CO modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Cost Center Accounting.
Perform data migration, system conversion, and validation activities during integration projects.
Analyze complex financial datasets and reconcile discrepancies during system transitions.
Support revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting processes.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful execution of IT integration projects.
Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Communicate analysis results, risks, and recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders.
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with SAP Financial Accounting (FI) modules including:
General Ledger (GL)
Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Asset Accounting (AA)
Hands-on experience with SAP Controlling (CO) including:
Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
Profit Center Accounting
Complex allocation methodologies
Overhead cost allocations
Experience with SAP Project Systems (PS), Materials Management (MM), and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules.
Experience with SAP Treasury (TR) and financial reporting processes.
Proven experience in data migration and system conversions, particularly in M&A IT integrations.
Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze and reconcile complex financial data.
Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), GAAP, and SOX compliance.
Ability to work independently in complex environments and unfamiliar challenges.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
