
UX/UI Design Intern

Summary
As a UI/UX Design Summer Intern, you will support the creation of user-centered, brand-aligned design solutions across a variety of digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, internal tools, and in-store digital experiences. This internship offers hands-on experience contributing to real projects while learning how strategy, research, analytics, and design systems come together to create meaningful customer experiences. Essential Functions
Organize and maintain UX/UI design artifacts in Figma to improve efficiency and reduce duplication. Support migration of design system documentation from Zeroheight to Figma Sites. Restructure and maintain reusable components to improve scalability, governance, and accessibility. Collaborate with UX, engineering, and business teams to ensure quality and consistency. Support user research efforts including usability testing, surveys, persona development, and journey mapping. Analyze KPIs, usability metrics, and competitive experiences to identify optimization opportunities. Create sketches, wireframes, and prototypes (low- and high-fidelity). Iterate designs based on feedback, data, and usability findings. Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and promote inclusive experiences. Stay current on UX trends and emerging tools; explore in-store and digital customer experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong understanding of user-centered design and design thinking principles. Knowledge of information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and user psychology. Experience with Figma (required); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (preferred). Familiarity with usability testing, surveys, and other UX research methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to balance user needs with business goals. Receptive to feedback and eager to learn. Minimum Requirements
Pursuing or recent Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, UX, or a related field (preferred). Ability to interpret feedback and data to improve solutions. Ability to work 4 days a week in-office in Charlotte, NC. Physical Demands
Must be able to look at computer monitors for extended periods; use of hands/fingers for typing. Work Environment
Office environment located in Charlotte, NC. Includes collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
