Kankakee Country Club is seeking an experienced Membership Relations Director. This is a highly visible, relationship‑driven leadership position responsible for driving membership growth, strengthening community connections, and ensuring new and existing members clearly experience the value of membership. It reports directly to the General Manager/COO. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality; ability to develop and implement programs, projects and activities designed to increase and retain membership in the club.

Annual compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 BOE

Daily Responsibilities

Serve as the main point‑of‑contact for all Membership specific questions and concerns.

Provide tours for potential members during their application process.

Be a subject matter expert on the types of membership classifications, fee schedules, and privileges within each membership plan.

Develop membership leads and activities.

Arrange and conduct the introductory process for new Members.

Connect with Members and guests to determine areas for improvement and develop plans to address.

Relay Member suggestions, concerns, & complaints to Club leadership team.

Manage membership files and paperwork. Keep all membership information current.

Work with the Office Manager/AP to complete member related administrative tasks.

Train staff to communicate appropriately about membership inquiries.

Attends Club events to welcome and takes photos (or oversees outside photography).

Annually updates files, agreements and information on reciprocal clubs.

Strategic Planning

Meets with Membership Committees regularly and attend meetings to discuss marketing ideas, review prospective Members who will be visiting The Club, and help identify and attract new Members.

Determines best avenue of hospitality for targeted prospects with the Committee. Insight of arrivals, Members and guests.

Develops with Troon marketing, Club Management and Committee strategic membership development program/marketing campaign to increase membership.

Assists in developing revenue goals, budgets and financial plans in membership and member relations/marketing department. Plans and implements strategies to meet/exceed club membership/financial goals.

Develops and ensures that established procedures for processing prospective Members’ applications are consistently followed.

Responsible for website, collaterals and all other marketing materials/efforts. Works with internal and external marketing to ensure all are in line with the KCC branding efforts.

Prepares monthly membership reports and any others needed by Management/Committee.

Assists, as needed, in crafting club events to attract new Members and guests.

Responsible for the development, production and delivery of a next generation Membership Book.

Communicates with management and team the membership goals, membership satisfaction, and membership activities.

Networks with other comparable clubs to stay connected to trends and industry initiatives. Maintains PCMA membership and visits similar clubs.

Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all Member information.

Education & Experience

2 years minimal experience Membership Manager in private club setting.

Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, or marketing, preferred but not required.

Jonas point of sale is desirable.

Pipedrive CRM experience (or similar) preferred.

Proficiency in Canva.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.

Illinois weather conditions can vary. Member Relations Director may experience various types of weather including Sunshine, Heat, Rain, and Snow.
