Key Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for customer quotations and internal budgeting.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to refine estimates and resolve discrepancies.
Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and manufacturability.
Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and historical data for future estimations.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience as an Estimator within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overheads.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using estimating software or ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Bonus Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Excel for complex data modeling and analysis (e.g., VBA, Power Query).
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and their costing modules.
Experience utilizing CAD software for material take-offs and design analysis.
Understanding of supply chain dynamics and material market trends.
