
Seasonal Temporary - Marketing/Community Outreach Event Coordinator

Seasonal Position:
Full time: May-September 2026: 28-40 hours. Typically, on event days, 8-hour shifts, though some event days may exceed 10 hours, including weekends. Non-event days will be used for event logistics planning.
Tuesday - Saturday [8:00 am -- 5:00 pm] (majority on-site work) Daily hours are flexible depending on event schedule.
Internship Project Description: This seasonal temporary employee will join the Manager & Staff division within Public Affairs/ Integrated Marketing section and will:
Provide logistic support for Denver Water activation at community events.
Provide external communication for event logistics and community engagement requests.
Represent Denver Water at community events.
Support materials organization and inventory management.
Coordinate and procure materials for internal engagement event requests.
Develop and promote internal communications to increase awareness and employee participation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to perform this intern project:
Attention to detail
A creative mindset with the ability to execute ideas.
Time management
Ability/desire to work independently
Comfortable in engaging with the public/ outgoing and approachable personality
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Spanish language is a plus.
Critical thinking
Temporary positions do not come with any benefits other than holiday pay and Accrued Paid Sick Leave. Denver Water Temps accrue one hour of Accrued Paid Sick Leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year per the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.
Qualifications Hiring Criteria: Education Requirements:
HS Diploma
Student majoring in Public Affairs, Communications or Marketing or Hospitality, or a related field preferred
Experience Requirements
Preferred experience in retail customer service
Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
License Requirements:
Current Colorado driver’s license “R”, with a satisfactory driving record required
Pre-Employment Requirements:
A background check including education and criminal history.
Driving is required; we’ll also request:
A motor vehicle background check.
A pre-placement clinic appointment which may include a physical, drug and alcohol test, strength test, and worker’s compensation background test.
An offer of employment may be contingent upon satisfactory results of a post-offer drug test and alcohol. Denver Water tests for the following: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana (THC), opiates, and phencyclidine (PCP). A strength test may also be conducted due to the physical requirements of the position. This strength test may include lifting, pushing, and pulling various amounts of weight as well as crouching, squatting, and lifting one’s own body weight from various positions. If the position is deemed safety-sensitive or requires a CDL, you will be placed on the random drug and alcohol testing list, which means you may be tested if your name is selected while employed at Denver Water.
