Job Description The Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an innovative, collaborative leader to join the Charlotte Central School’s (CCS) leadership team as a Building‑Based Special Education Director and Assistant Principal. CCS is a K‑8th grade school within CVSD, a pK‑12 system comprising the communities of Charlotte, Hinesburg, St. George, Shelburne, and Williston. The Director of Special Education / Assistant Principal is a member of the CVSD special education leadership team and the CCS administrative leadership team. Working in conjunction with CVSD, the Director will coordinate Special Education and 504 services, and collaborate with the principal to provide leadership within a multi‑tiered system of support. The successful candidate will serve as a strong advocate for all students, teachers and families, will be knowledgeable regarding special education regulations and procedures and have documented leadership experience regarding the development of intervention models within an MTSS framework.
Qualifications and Requirements Candidates must have at least three years of experience as an Educator and hold or be eligible for endorsements as a Director of Special Education and Principal. The position will be open until filled; however, preference will be given to candidates who submit their application prior to Friday, March 27th. This is a year‑round contract and compensation will be competitive based upon experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Eligibility for Director of Special Education and Principal endorsements.
