
Pricing Analyst

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost proposals for government and defense-related opportunities. This position supports the full proposal development cycle by creating detailed pricing models, estimating labor and material costs, evaluating subcontractor quotes, and preparing supporting cost documentation in compliance with federal acquisition regulations. This role works closely with capture management, finance leadership, and the purchasing team to ensure pricing strategies align with organizational goals while meeting contractual and regulatory requirements. Experience within the government contracting or defense sector and familiarity with federal cost structures is highly valuable.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline preferred. Experience supporting pricing or cost proposal development within a government or defense contracting environment is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development & Cost Modeling Prepare comprehensive cost proposals in response to government solicitations including RFPs and RFǪs Develop and maintain labor pricing structures including direct labor rates, overhead allocations, escalation factors, and fully burdened rates Create and document Basis of Estimate (BOE) materials and supporting pricing narratives Analyze historical financial data and market benchmarks to support pricing decisions Work with the proposal team to develop complete pricing volumes for submissions Supplier and Subcontract Pricing Support Partner with the purchasing group to analyze pricing for materials, services, and subcontracted work Perform cost and price analysis to confirm quotes are reasonable and compliant Review vendor proposals to ensure alignment with solicitation requirements Assist with make-versus-buy evaluations when applicable Financial Alignment & Regulatory Compliance Coordinate with finance leadership to validate indirect rate structures including overhead, GCA, and profit assumptions Ensure pricing methodologies comply with federal acquisition regulations and other applicable government standards Provide documentation support for potential audits and compliance reviews Contribute to forward pricing rate proposal development when required Capture Strategy Support Collaborate with capture managers to ensure pricing strategies support overall proposal competitiveness Provide input during bid/no-bid discussions related to pricing feasibility Conduct competitive price analysis and scenario modeling Support clarification responses and pricing negotiations following proposal submission Documentation and Reporting Maintain organized records of pricing models, assumptions, and revisions Track cost assumptions, risks, and supporting data used in proposal development Prepare internal pricing summaries and review materials for leadership Assist with pricing updates related to contract
