
Director of Financial Reporting

Responsible for managing the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. The responsibilities include preparing, analyzing and publishing all internal and external financial reports in accordance with all required accounting principles and practices, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly corporate accounting matters, implementing new accounting standards and providing guidance on all technical accounting matters, and managing all key accounting policies.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to excel at the following:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, equity statements and related supporting information.
Prepare SEC filings under Form 10-Q and Form 10-K.
Prepare Rules 3-05 and 11 financial statements and pro formas under Form 8-K for material acquisitions.
Prepare Audit Committee and Board of Directors materials.
Prepare and analyze internal monthly and quarterly management reports.
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for certain technical accounting matters, including but not limited to, Consolidation & Elimination Entries, Stock-based Compensation, Business Combinations, Equity Instruments, and Debt & Interest.
Monitor and implement new accounting standards, including peer review analysis.
Perform research and provide guidance on technical accounting matters.
Manage and implement accounting policies.
Manage completion of annual audit and quarterly reviews by external auditors.
Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests as directed.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA required.
10+ years’ accounting experience with at least 5-6 years in corporate accounting and financial reporting for public companies.
Experience with FASB, SEC and other governing body requirements including research and interpretation of such rules and regulations.
Strong computer and excel skills.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Technical Skills: The successful candidate should be PROFICIENT in the following technologies:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Proficiency in Financial Reporting Systems (for example, Workiva)
Experience with oil and gas accounting software (for example, Enertia).
Strong understanding of oil and gas accounting.
