Who We’re Looking For PIRTEK is hiring for a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in varying environmental conditions. This is a messy job that requires manual labor and on-call hours, so dedication and grit are essential. Hourly Base Pay, Plus Incentive Pay Based on Monthly Sales Targets (focus on rewarding great work and results).
We are looking for highly driven and self-sufficient individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills. Our most successful Technicians:

Show a passion and perseverance through their work and customer service
Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required! Each Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician is provided complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for Technicians to ask technical questions.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards
Carry out service calls & sales visits in your local area, expected to make sales calls when not servicing equipment
Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement
Input service details into the online database to create accurate invoices
Develop relationships with new and existing customers
Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment
Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits
Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule
Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Environment You will be operating out of a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile service unit – a workshop-van that is outfitted with all the machinery needed to cut and crimp hydraulic hose and fittings. Tech will supply their own hand tools or the owner will stipend the new employees to purchase their hand tools in support of their onboarding.
Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc.
Oil, grease, lubricant, and other “messy” substances are frequently used
On call duty to support 24/7 service, rotating schedule with other techs
Required weekly sales calls targets (new and current customers), adjusted based on workload each week
Skills & Abilities Needed
Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods
Mechanically inclined – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to navigate through customer objections to identify needs and execute sales
Self-motivated & positive attitude through difficult jobs
Able to work individually and as a team
Lift up to 50 pounds
Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Driver’s License with clean driving record
Experience not required but will be a plus, in industrial development & construction, automobile/ marine/ field mechanics, or a related industry
Ability to pass a background check
You will be required to travel for training to FL as part of the onboarding (5 days of training and testing, all travel expenses are no cost to you / air, hotel, food, retail car), there will be other training initiatives during the onboarding with our staff as preparation to the FL training and learning the role (you are paid during all training using the step payrate below).
Salary & Benefits
Starting Hourly Rate: $29.00, step rate during onboarding process
Post onboarding 4-7 weeks (based on the pace your abilities): $27.00
Post HQ training and passing certification with +85% score: $29.00 (net 4 week to 8 weeks based on your abilities)
Overtime paid after 40 hours weekly, time and half hourly rate
Commission incentive starts with escalating payout post $21k in monthly sales
Certified training programs & 24/7 support hotline
Company vehicle (you will take the van home) & phone
Paid Time Off: 2 weeks PTO, 1 week Sick Days
