
Mechanical Designer

SkyWater is partnering with an existing client in Minneapolis to find a Mechanical Designer for their growing team! The Mechanical Designer will play a critical role in the design & development of our client’s agricultural processing equipment products. They’ll work closely with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and customers while creating custom product designs in SolidWorks. Our client is a well-established and consistently growing processing equipment manufacturer that mainly services the agricultural industry. We’re looking for someone with an Associate’s Degree and around 3-5 years of mechanical design or drafting experience within a similar manufacturing environment (machinery, equipment, etc.).
Responsibilities:
Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics and layouts using 2D & 3D CAD software. Partner with sales & engineering teams to develop designs for custom processing equipment. Maintain design documentation and keep up-to-date bill of materials (BOM). Support manufacturing teams on design for manufacturability projects. Other duties or projects as assigned Desired Skills & Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Engineering or a related field of study. 3+ years of experience as a Designer or Drafter in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar programs. Experience working in a custom machinery or equipment environment preferred.
