Position Title: Process Designer
The Process Designer plays a vital role in transforming project requirements into detailed design documentation. This position focuses on CAD work, including the creation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and equipment lists, without necessitating a full engineering degree. The designer is expected to support basic process selections and collaborate closely with the engineering team to finalize designs.
Process Designer Responsibilities
Develop P&IDs for various projects
Create detailed equipment lists, including sizing components like pumps and control valves
Translate project requirements into CAD-based design documentation
Collaborate with the engineering team to finalize process designs
Provide input on equipment selection and layout for custom engineered systems
Interface with customers to obtain approvals on process designs
Coordinate with the manufacturing team to ensure design feasibility
Process Designer Requirements
Strong CAD proficiency
Proven experience in developing P&IDs and equipment lists
Ability to support basic process selections
3D design experience; Inventor is strongly preferred
Willingness to work onsite in Springfield; remote work considered for exceptional candidates
Associate degree in CAD with Inventor focus or equivalent strong experience is preferred
Experience in food/beverage processing is preferred
Customer approval package experience is preferred
