
Proposal Copy Editor

Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Proposal Copy Editor to support our Request for Proposal (RFP) team on a long‑term temporary basis. In this role, you will provide expert editorial review and copy editing to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards across proposal documents. Ensure all proposal documents and deliverables strictly adhere to Mercer’s branding guidelines to maintain consistency and professionalism. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, proposal managers, and sales teams to deliver polished, client‑ready RFP responses.
What You Can Expect:
Provide detailed editorial peer review and copy editing on complex, large‑scale proposal documents.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Contribute to smooth workflow processes and help ensure all deliverables meet company quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive editorial peer review of proposal documents, including grammar, syntax, punctuation, clarity, and consistency with brand guidelines.
Edit and refine content developed by subject matter experts to ensure professional, client‑ready deliverables.
Collaborate with RFP Proposal Managers and Sales Teams to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
Review and improve existing proposal materials to enhance response effectiveness.
Serve as a content editor for RFP graphics and other proposal deliverables as needed.
Track and report on editorial progress and challenges to support workflow management.
Edit and review content to guarantee compliance with Mercer’s branding standards, including style, tone, and visual elements.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with experience reviewing large documents.
Strong organizational skills, including planning, prioritization, and scheduling.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to apply and enforce corporate branding guidelines in written and visual materials.
Preferred Skills:
Experience using Smartsheet or similar project tracking tools.
Familiarity with proposal development processes and RFP response requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
