Starting Salary: $83,052.00 per year

Shift: Mon - Fri, 9:00am - 5:00pm
This position is in the Career Service.
Responsibilities
Lead the graphic design team and the library's in-house print unit.
Review incoming design and print requests, meet with staff to clarify needs and set priorities.
Oversee projects including flyers, posters, brochures, signage, digital graphics and campaign materials.
Serve as lead designer on major marketing efforts and guide projects from concept through final production.
Supervise and support graphic designers and print staff, assign work, provide feedback, approve final files and ensure all materials meet library and City standards before printing or distribution.
Oversee daily print operations, including scheduling jobs, managing equipment, monitoring inventory and supplies, and ensuring quality control.
Coordinate photographers for special events and maintain organized archives of design files and printed materials.
Manage the division's budget and stay current on design tools, printing technology and industry trends to keep the team efficient and up to date.
Provide hands‑on leadership that blends creative direction, print production oversight and team management.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Nine (9) years of work experience in graphic design or commercial artwork, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role, or
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Graphic Arts or a directly related field, plus seven (7) years of work experience in graphic design or commercial artwork, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role, or
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts or a directly related field, plus five (5) years of work experience in graphic design or commercial artwork, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role, or
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Graphic Arts or a directly related field, plus four (4) years of work experience in graphic design or commercial artwork, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
Selection Criteria This position requires an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview, will be selected.
