Chicago, IL About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an
Operations Specialist
to manage
trade show and exhibition logistics . This role focuses on
import/export coordination, freight forwarding, and on-time delivery of exhibits
to national and international trade shows.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate import/export shipments for trade shows and exhibitions, including
FCL, LCL, and air freight .
Manage end-to-end operations:
booking, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery to exhibition stands .
Track and monitor shipments, proactively resolving delays or issues.
Liaise with
overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and vendors
to ensure smooth logistics.
Provide lane rates, spot quotes, and freight solutions for clients.
Support trade show setup by coordinating
pick-up, terminal handling, and on-site delivery schedules .
Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide practical solutions for customers and internal teams.
Requirements:
Proven experience in
freight forwarding, import/export operations, or trade show logistics .
Knowledge of
customs procedures, ATA carnets, and international shipping documentation .
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Experience with
air and ocean freight shipments .
Ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in
logistics software or freight management systems
is a plus.
