Office Specialist 2 – Undergraduate Admissions Evaluator (Position Number D95394). Proposed start date: 04/01/2026. FTE: 1.0.
Position Summary Portland State University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for recruiting and admitting undergraduate students. The Operations division oversees application collection, material intake, and review for all undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate applicants. This role will coordinate and process applications, determine admissibility, evaluate transfer credits, and perform data entry into multiple PSU systems (Banner, OnBase, Uacheive, SLATE) with accuracy and speed.
Responsibilities
Process undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate applications, including determining admissibility.
Evaluate transfer credits and correlate transcripts to PSU systems.
Enter admission information into multiple PSU systems (Banner, OnBase, Uacheive, SLATE).
Perform math computations with fractions, convert semester to quarter systems, and apply accurate calculations.
Type 55 words per minute and use calculator accurately.
Maintain data for long periods on computer systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of general clerical experience, or an Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology.
One year of clerical experience that includes typing, word processing, or similar document generation.
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology substitute for the required experience year‑for‑year.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work with a variety of school systems.
Proficiency in using calculators with accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Ellucian Banner or an equivalent SIS system.
Proficiency with SLATE or a similar CRM.
Admissions experience.
Experience at Portland State University.
Equivalent combination of training and experience.
