Overview

Wage : A competitive annual salary of $71,000 - $85,000 base pay
Employment Type : Full-Time/Exempt

Position Location : California - Oakland, Sacramento, Los Angeles
Work Schedule : Four Day Work Week: Two (2) days in office, two (2) days remote. However, there may be certain circumstances, like pressing deadlines or peak business periods, where it becomes necessary for the organization to temporarily switch to a five-day work week.

Responsibilities
The Web and Graphic Designer is critical to our overall organizational success. The ideal candidate will lead graphic creation, maintain the EnviroVoters and EnviroVoters Education Fund websites, create web content that moves individuals to take actions online, and report on and use analytics to make data-driven decisions to improve overall website performance.
Develop visual concepts and create designs for logos, websites, social media graphics, infographics, print media, and paid ads.
Implement A/B testing structure for creative design in partnership with the Sr. Social Media Manager, Web and Email Manager, and Sr. Digital Content Producer to increase engagement across channels.
Ensure all designs are consistent with established brand guidelines and maintain each organization’s visual identity.
Collaborate with the Philanthropy, Political, and Organizing departments to understand project briefs and deliver designs that support campaign objectives.
Manage multiple projects, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines.
Stay up-to-date on design trends, tools, and best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Website And UX Design
Collaborate with the Email and Web Manager to optimize website content and increase engagement rates across all sites.
Identify and solve pain points in the user journey to improve website conversion rates (donations, email leads, etc.).
Develop ongoing testing and optimization plans for landing pages and donation forms to improve user experience.
Develop and manage landing pages, tools, and graphics for online activities, including donation forms, website popups, advocacy actions, and more.
Work with Political & Organizing and Policy Advocacy teams to develop content relevant to legislative priorities and increase advocacy actions site-wide.
Implement SEO best practices and use Google Analytics to monitor data and recommend strategies to improve sites.
Leverage AI tools to improve content strategy and search engine rankings.
Manage relationships with vendors as needed (e.g., Cornershop, Democracy Engine, Act Blue).
Utilize the Adobe Suite to design engaging content for website landing pages and fundraising forms.
Project manage inter- and intra-department campaigns and projects, including the annual Environmental Scorecard and endorsement portals.
Must Haves
5 years of experience designing compelling website, social media, and other digital content, improving website flow, and increasing engagement.
Strong understanding of composition principles for striking layouts that attract engagement on social media.
Designer problem-solving mindset with ability to execute unique design solutions across varied projects.
Experience leading multi-faceted digital campaigns, including vendor/contractor relationships, budgeting, content creation, and UX quality.
Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Framer).
Experience with platforms like WordPress, EveryAction, ActBlue, Pardot, Blackbaud, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere).
Strong project management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript and accessibility testing tools (e.g., Google Accessibility Test Framework, WAVE).
Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Framer.
Understanding of typography, design systems, color theory, and layouts.
Knowledge of working in organizations with C3, C4, and PACs.
