
Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Designer with a strong background in HVAC system design for commercial and institutional projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, performing system calculations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and exhaust systems for buildings
Prepare layout drawings, schematics, and detailed mechanical plans using AutoCAD or Revit
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (ASHRAE, IMC, NEC), standards, and project specifications
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure coordination and integration with other building systems
Conduct site surveys and assessments to collect data for renovation or retrofit projects
Assist in the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
Review submittals and respond to RFIs during the construction phase
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and technical growth
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of HVAC design experience in a consulting or engineering firm
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design software
Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with fire protection and plumbing systems
Familiarity with building commissioning processes
