Qualifications:
Valid Missouri Superintendent’s Certification from MO Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
Specialist's Degree equivalent or higher from an accredited college or university, Doctorate preferred, with a strong emphasis in educational administration and supervision.
At least two years of successful administrative or supervisory experience, with central office experience highly desirable.
Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and/or Superintendent may find appropriate.

Supervises:
Instructional coaches, in conjunction with the Superintendent, all personnel of the district.
Job Goal:
Assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible education programs and services. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent shall direct all operations of the district.
Performance and Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Superintendent in directing the administration and coordinating the District’s educational programs.
Coordinate the District’s school improvement plan (Comprehensive School Improvement Plan - CSIP).
Evaluate the district instructional coaches.
Assist the District’s professional development committee as they coordinate, supervise, and evaluate all professional development activities.
Complete appropriate State and Federal forms and surveys.
Assist the Superintendent in the appointment, assignment, transfer, promotion, demotion, discharge, and/or suspension of District employees and administrative staff.
Attend all meetings of the Board, except those concerned with the contract status of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Assist in the search and interview for certified staff positions.
Manage and arrange PD for curriculum instruction and assessment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
Act as the district test coordinator.
Terms of Employment:
12-month position. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
Physical, Mental and Visual Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Additionally, the employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 25 lbs. as necessary for the safety and well-being of others. Lastly, this job requires the employee to have the vision ability to read handwritten or typed materials and meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.
