About the Role Brentwood School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Athletic and Activities Director to lead and oversee extracurricular programs for students. The ideal candidate will have experience in education, athletics, or student activities and a strong ability to build authentic relationships with students, families, and staff. A successful leader in this role will create an inclusive and engaging extracurricular culture, ensuring that all students have opportunities to participate, grow, and succeed. With a focus on collaboration, the director will work closely with coaches, sponsors, and school leaders to uphold high expectations for student involvement, sportsmanship, and academic balance. This individual will be an active and visible presence at events, fostering school spirit and strengthening community connections through athletics and activities.
As the leader of Brentwood's extracurricular programs, the Athletic and Activities Director will play a key role in shaping a well-rounded student experience that promotes teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as this leader will coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with district and state policies. The ability to support and mentor coaches and activity sponsors, while fostering a positive and competitive environment, is critical. A deep understanding of student engagement and program development will help guide continuous improvement and innovation in extracurricular offerings. By promoting integrity, inclusivity, and excellence, the director will help create a vibrant school culture where students take pride in their participation and accomplishments.

This position ensures that all programs align with the district's educational mission, emphasizing the development of student-athletes, fostering school spirit, and maintaining compliance with all state and conference regulations. The Athletic/Activities Director collaborates with coaches, sponsors, families, and the community to promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Reports To Superintendent of Schools
Qualifications Education and/or Experience
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university required
Successful teaching experience required
Previous experience as a coach, athletic director, or school activities administrator preferred
Secondary school administration experience preferred
Certificates/Licenses
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate required
Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation preferred or willingness to obtain
