Salary Range: $55.00 To $55.00 Hourly
CAI is seeking a consultant who will use their knowledge, skills, relationships, and insights to support the planning of a statewide harm reduction conference, reaching a closed audience of staff and leadership of Harm Reduction centers in New Jersey, New Jersey Department of Health staff, and other key stakeholders. We anticipate this consulting relationship to last from March through May 2026.
In collaboration with the Project Director, Project Team, and other CAI staff, the consultant will engage in the following activities:
Consultation: Meet with CAI project director, select staff, funder, and other stakeholders to ensure speakers support the event’s purpose, scope, and themes
Speaker Recruitment: Source, vet, and secure speakers, panelists, and presenters
Speaker Liaison & Communication: Manage speaker inquiries and logistics
Content Management: Collect, review, and organize presentations, bios, and materials
Participant Logistics: Support participant registrations for event and accommodations
Communications: Draft session descriptions and related conference communications for participant-facing assets, including conference website and program
Preparation and Support: Coordinate technical run‑throughs and provide onsite support for the conference from May 17‑19, 2026
Conference Wrap‑Up: Assist with communications around speaker invoices and other conference follow‑up activities
Hours of work per week will vary but will average 8 hours per week, with the exception of the weeks of May 12, May 18, and May 25, which will require additional hours.
Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skills Required:
Event‑planning experience preferred; harm reduction experience a strong plus.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred MPH, MPA, MHA; Mental Health LMH, LRC, MSW, LMSW, LCSW; or Nursing; RN, MSN) or equivalent educational and/or lived experience.
Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to interpret and use real‑time data to support process improvement.
Excellent documentation skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable steps/plans.
A demonstrated commitment to social justice, health equity, and diversity.
