We are seeking instructors for drumline, visual, brass, and woodwind. The Marching Band will serve students during the summer Marching Band camp and fall Marching Band season. A successful marching band requires instructors to help manage the many facets and after-school commitments that come with an excellent marching band program. Associate Directors are responsible for teaching and rehearsing a major faction within the Marching Band, including leadership when the Director is not present. These factions could be, but are not limited to, Percussion, Front Ensemble, and Marching Visuals. Associate Directors are regularly present throughout the August Marching Band Camp and the ongoing rehearsals throughout the Fall. Associate Directors work with the Marching Band Director to determine the specifics of their work schedule, based on the needs of the students and program. In addition to core duties, instructors must:

Attend August band camp;

Attend all performances;

Assist directors, as needed, with drill writing, equipment maintenance, and/or logistical management.

Desired Qualifications

Enthusiasm for music and marching band.

Availability for all related activities

Demonstrates knowledge of assigned instrument/marching fundamentals.

Organizational and motivational skills.

Successful experience in teaching music/marching band.

Willingness to support the overall music program.

Classroom teacher is preferred but not required.

This is a timesheeted, temporary position.
