
Sales Compensation Analyst

Summary
In this role, you’ll partner with cross‑functional teams—including HR, Sales Operations, Legal, Data Engineering, and Finance—to support and deliver sales compensation calculations.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders and leadership to understand requirements, coordinate inputs, and help ensure calculations are completed accurately and on schedule.
This position provides meaningful exposure to how compensation programs are executed and offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements within a growing sales compensation organization.
Required Skills Sales Compensation Analyst Responsibilities
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of sales incentive payments to the sales organization
Maintain the systems, process and data that drives the sales incentive plans for a large sales organization
Update and audit data at the detailed payout, payee, and revenue level to ensure success of compliance and overall alignment
Partner with HR, Sales Operations, Sales and Data Engineering teams to set up accurate quotas, territory assignments and revenue crediting
Perform manual calculations of sales compensation, if necessary
Perform weekly/quarterly data audits and system maintenance to accurately reflect payee records and comp design components such as component weightings, quotas, accelerator rates and tiers
Participate in the design/implementation process for system enhancements and complete user acceptance testing for calculation logic, data tables and reporting in the incentive compensation system and related CRM and revenue tools
Ensure the Sales Compensation payout process, controls and documentation is in accordance with SOX requirements
Execute the quarterly process to create/change, publish, and obtain sign-offs of the individual compensation plan documents and calculator tools
Answer queries from the sales teams and provide regular quarterly training on sales incentives to the sales teams, with ad hoc training provided as needed
Research and QA quota and payout inconsistencies for Sales Team
Work with Data Engineering to resolve outstanding system issues
Develop and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of the sales incentive compensation program
Provide support for cross‑functional compensation related inquiries and requests (e.g., payroll, accounting accruals, SOX support)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Business or equivalent
5+ years of analytical, modeling and financial statement analysis experience
Google Sheets/Excel and Google Slides/Powerpoint experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understand corporate finance concepts
Organized, detail‑oriented, and experienced in multitasking
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and driving initiatives in a cross‑functional team
Experience with sales compensation/commissions
Experience with compensation software tools such as Xactly, Callidus, IBM Varicent and Cognos
Public Compensation $121,000/year to $179,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
