Job Description
A credit & collections associate participates in customer setup, evaluates customer creditworthiness, follows up on past‑due accounts, responds to customer inquiries and requests for information, and ensures the timely collection of payments.
Main Responsibilities
Adhere to the work schedule and be able to report to work on time, and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift
Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers and assess credit risk
Monitor overdue accounts and follow up with customers
Monitor accounts on credit hold and release orders
New customer setup and onboarding
Work closely with salesmen and customers on the collection and maintenance of credit applications, D&B reports, and other pertinent customer documents
Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
3 years of experience in a similar role
Strong analytical skills and the willingness to provide analysis to management
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products — Outlook and Excel
Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Effective communication skills for working with customers, sales staff, and internal teams
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Physical Demands
Sit for extended periods/stand as needed
May require walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day
Bending and reaching for files
Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds
