Job Description The Campus Chapter Intern is a public-facing member of NMDP on college campuses. This position engages student peers in alignment with the pillars of the NMDP Chapters program to educate, recruit, and fundraise in support of the NMDP mission.

Position Summary The primary focus of the Campus Chapter Intern is to fulfill a leadership role within the NMDP Chapter on their campus, which includes growing and engaging the chapter membership, ensuring the chapter is officially recognized and has good standing with the university, and ensuring the chapter fulfills all expectations of the NMDP Chapters program. Registry recruitment is an important part of this role and will be done with the support and guidance of a regional Member Recruitment staff team.

This intern engages students to spread awareness, educate, and inspire committed individuals to join the NMDP Registry through captive-audience presentations, tabling events, digital marketing, and registry recruitment activities. The intern is specifically charged with establishing (if not present), cultivating, and growing an NMDP Chapter at their college/university, as measured by registered student organization status on campus, number of chapter members, and new NMDP registry members added by the NMDP Chapter.

Primary Responsibilities Build and sustain campus relationships and inspire committed student peers to join the NMDP registry. Key target audiences include:

Students, faculty, administrators, and staff

Student organizations

Athletic teams

Marching bands

Campus public relations / marketing team

Other accountabilities:

Building NMDP volunteerism on campus, including episodic volunteers and NMDP Ambassadors, measured by number of volunteers and hours of volunteers

Ability to:

Learn, retain, and communicate lifesaving information about NMDP to spread awareness, educate, and grow the NMDP Registry within the campus community

Leverage strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with other students and campus organizations

Build enthusiasm and inspire the campus community about NMDP's lifesaving community through engaging conversations and public speaking

Be highly organized and effectively manage time, balancing internship responsibilities with academic and other commitments

Adapt and problem-solve when things don't initially go as planned

Lead weekly on-campus activations including captive audience presentations, tabling, collaboration with other campus stakeholders, or NMDP recruitment events. These events may require physical setup and breakdown of booth/tables/chairs, and securing and managing volunteers to help achieve the weekly recruitment goal

Work in a remote environment under minimum in-person supervision and demonstrate consistent dependability

Learn and become proficient in NMDP's member registration process

Use social media platforms to effectively promote NMDP's lifesaving mission

Create, develop and/or maintain a registered student organization on campus, including hosting executive board and general body meetings, recruiting new members, and staying in good standing with the college/university

Comply with NMDP's confidentiality policy

Utilize computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet search applications

Required Qualifications Education and/or Experience

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at a targeted college or university

Preference given to students who are currently NMDP Chapter members, NMDP Ambassadors, and/or NMDP volunteers

Completed at least 30 hours of coursework

Minimum GPA 2.8

Time Commitment School Year: 10 hours/week, including some weekend and evening hours.

Pay rate $18.50 per hour
