
Communications Manager

The Corporate Communications Manager (Freelance) will lead the planning and delivery of strategic communications that reinforce the organization’s brand, support key business initiatives, and keep stakeholders well informed and engaged. This role requires a versatile communicator who can distill complex, often technical or clinical information into clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences.
Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional partners in marketing, HR, and operations, this role will drive consistent, high-quality messaging across internal and external channels. The ideal candidate is a proactive storyteller, a meticulous editor, and a reliable project manager who can operate independently in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute integrated corporate communication strategies that align with business goals and major corporate initiatives.
Plan, write, and edit a wide range of materials, including press releases, executive communications, internal announcements, talking points, FAQs, web content, emails, and thought leadership articles.
Support internal communications programs that strengthen employee understanding of company strategy, culture, and performance.
Ensure message consistency and brand alignment across channels such as intranet, corporate website, email, social platforms (in partnership with marketing), and presentations.
Partner with executives and subject-matter experts to shape clear, accurate narratives around complex technical, clinical, or regulatory topics.
Manage project timelines, stakeholder input, and approval workflows to deliver communications on schedule.
Monitor engagement and feedback, using insights to refine messaging and optimize communication approaches.
Provide communication support for key milestones and events, including town halls, leadership meetings, and organizational announcements.
Apply regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements to all communications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in corporate communications or a closely related field; experience in healthcare, medical device, or other regulated industries is preferred.
Demonstrated copywriting excellence with a portfolio showcasing clear, concise, and persuasive content across multiple formats and audiences.
Experience operating at a manager level, including advising senior leaders and managing concurrent projects and priorities.
Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong commitment to accuracy and detail.
Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter and translate it into accessible, audience-relevant language.
Comfort working onsite 4 days per week in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, including the capacity to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.
Familiarity with brand, voice, and tone guidelines, and the ability to flex style while maintaining consistency.
