
Beach Ambassador - Seasonal

The Town of North Topsail Beach is home to over twelve miles of beach strand located in beautiful Onslow County! Our motto, \"Natures Tranquil Beauty\", is the guiding principle in our everyday operations. We seek to provide the cleanest, most peaceful beaches in the area for tourists and residents alike!
Beach ambassadors are part time seasonal employees that spend their time driving the beach strand, interacting with, and educating visitors, observing and reporting violations to law enforcement officers and parks and recreation issues to public works employees.
Patrol the beach strand in a non-sworn capacity
Observe violations of town ordinance and state law
Engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Attempt to educate visitors about town ordinances
Report substantial violations to law enforcement
Additional Job Duties
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Town and State beach related ordinances and laws.
Knowledge of beach flora and fauna.
Excellent customer service skills - must enjoy interacting with the public.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work outdoors during the Summer months when temperatures and weather can vary.
Must be able to stand and walk on sand.
Must be able to perform the basic functions of sight, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, talking, and hearing.
Must possess the visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to perform work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.
Desirable Education and Experience
Graduation from high school
Special Requirement
NC driver's license
At least 18 years of age
