Job Summary

Responsible for the supervision of general operations, cleaning, and maintenance of the three locations, (The Theater, Scene Shop and Rose Studios for Youth Artists). Maintain security and fire alarm systems and allocate space for the facility and rental scheduling.

  • Supervise full-time and part-time facility staff.
  • Be knowledgeable of and responsible for maintaining all safety guidelines as designated by OSHA safety standards and/or the Nebraska State Fire Marshall.
  • Coordinate all staff training on first aid and facility lock-up procedures including fire, auto and security policies.
  • Coordinate all maintenance and repairs within the facility.
  • Develop and monitor annual operating budgets for maintenance operations for all theater facilities.
  • Maintain correspondence with outside contractors concerning malfunctions of equipment and/or facilities, repair or replacement and liability of expenses.
  • Provide ongoing inspections of facilities for cleanliness, maintenance, and general upkeep needs.
  • Ensure all facility systems are operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Always maintain reasonable accessibility to staff and facilities.
  • Schedule and oversee work shifts and plan work schedules for custodial, maintenance, and facility coverage during regular business hours and rentals.
  • Monitor supplies inventory preparing supplies/equipment PO orders as needed.
  • Review and authorize payment in the facility department.
  • Perform written staff evaluations annually.
  • Oversee contracts for facility elevator, electrical systems, security, fire alarm systems, heating and cooling systems and any other facility related contract.
  • Review annual insurance policies including auto, facility, workers comp, liability, and umbrella.
  • Report all insurance claims, payments and tracking to the proper company and ensure payment.
  • Work with the Theaters Insurance Company on all adjustments and claims submitted.
  • Perform and update employee insurability for the company's automobile policies.
  • Responsible for maintenance and record keeping of all company vehicles.
  • Interview, hire, and evaluate the performance of support staff including custodial and contractors.
  • Distribute keys for staff, following approval from dept. head and maintain key records.
  • Responsible for development and control of budget for facility rentals.
  • Develop and estimate rental contracts, staffing and public relations.
  • Schedule events and act as the company liaison to the renter. Communicate details to contact person, facility staff, box office, and production staff as needed.
  • Set up and follow budget guidelines and pay schedules for each event for staff.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of facility rooms for company activities and special events including but not limited to: Guild and Board fundraising events, marketing events, The Rose Theater annual meetings, holiday party, and other Mission related collaborations.
  • Coordinate security guard schedule for public shows and rentals with Clark International.
  • Consult with staff to ensure smooth operation and problem resolution.

Other Job Duties

  • Act as Safety Committee Chair and organize the committee members to ensure safety codes.
  • Maintain positive public relations with patrons through visibility and availability.
  • Work flexible schedule as needed to meet responsibilities.
  • Participate in company events/activities as required.
  • Attend all necessary meetings, including all-staff monthly meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing a facility, including supervision of full and part-time staff.
  • Basic cleaning knowledge.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use automatic scrubber machine, vacuum, sweep, wet and dry mops.
  • Basic computer skills including scheduling software.
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to meet all deadlines under pressure situations.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Act as a representative of the company at all times, providing excellent customer service to members, patrons, vendors and staff.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR/1st Aid.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to stoop over and pick up things off the floor.
  • Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • On-site attendance is required.
  • Work theater events as scheduled.

Position Compensation Range

$50,000 - $70,000
