Job Summary
At Potomac Courts Assisted Living, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activities Director to join our team in Potomac, MD. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents, with the goal of enhancing their overall quality of life and sense of community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents
- Plan and conduct a variety of activities, including social events, educational programs, arts and crafts, and exercise classes
- Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, dietary, and social services, to ensure that activities are integrated into the overall care plan
- Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that fosters resident participation and socialization
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed to ensure resident satisfaction and engagement
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules
- Support the development and maintenance of a positive and inclusive community atmosphere
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in assisted living or a similar setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred
- Ability to work with residents with varying levels of needs and abilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
