Key Responsibilities
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Optimize all new GPI news posts and releases for strong search performance.
- Strengthen ranking for core GPI content, especially key announcements and initiatives.
- Make light technical improvements as needed (metadata, tags, alt text, internal links, minor fixes).
- Provide ongoing, practical SEO adjustments to maintain visibility.
Digital Marketing
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote Greater Portland Inc. (GPI) as a preferred destination for business and investment, restoring and enhancing the region's reputation.
- Build and manage targeted LinkedIn ad campaigns.
- Manage Google Ads campaigns tied to key GPI initiatives.
- Launch digital advertising campaigns, including display ads on platforms like Google, to reach decision-makers and promote the Portland region.
- Recommend keywords and targeting strategies that support traded-sector business recruitment and brand visibility.
- Collaborate with strategic media partners, including business magazines, to expand our reach and engage key audiences.
Communications & Content Support
- Refine, tighten, and polish digital copy for news posts, announcements, and updates.
- Ensure consistency of message, tone, and clarity across digital channels.
- Prepare short-form copy for web, sponsored posts, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Coordinate with internal team on how stories, visuals, and data are represented digitally.
- Schedule and post content utilizing tools such as Mailchimp, Salesforce, Loomly, and GPI’s website portal.
Contractor Qualifications
- Proven experience in marketing and digital marketing, SEO optimization, and social media strategies is highly desirable.
- Strong familiarity with LinkedIn advertising and content strategies is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills are essential.
- Demonstrated proactiveness, creativity, and an ability to work collaboratively are valued attributes.
- A combination of relevant professional experience and education, such as a bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field, or a master's degree, is considered advantageous.
