Led by a successful and experienced entrepreneurial team, RayzeBio aims to be the global leader in radiopharmaceuticals The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting laboratory operations, and providing facility logistics support. This role ensures accurate material handling, regulatory compliance, inventory coordination, vendor support, and safe distribution of materials throughout the facility. In addition to core shipping and receiving duties, this position supports the procurement and distribution of lab consumables, the coordination of lab coats and compressed gas, dry ice delivery, and general facilities operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations Receive all incoming packages, supplies, reagents, equipment, hazardous materials, and temperature-controlled shipments. Verify contents against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and coordinate vendor follow-up as needed. Log and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records. Prepare outgoing shipments (domestic, international, and hazmat), including packaging, labeling, and coordination with carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL). Maintain chain-of-custody documentation for regulated materials. Track, sort, distribute, and internally deliver packages to end users. Maintain a clean, organized, 5S-compliant shipping/receiving area. Coordinate shipping activities with internal departments and external carriers. Travel locally between locations if needed to support delivery coordination. Laboratory & Consumables Support Coordinate and log incoming materials into inventory or asset-tracking systems in coordination with lab managers. Monitor and restock lab consumables (pipette tips, tubes, PPE, general supplies). Maintain par levels and reorder per threshold. Perform inventory cycle counts and assist lab managers with usage tracking. Support Lab Managers with consumption metrics of chemicals and replenishment. Help to ensure hallways and shared areas remain clear and compliant with safety standards. Lab Coat Program Support Support delivery, soiled collection, and laundry return coordination of lab coats. Distribute clean lab coats to designated laboratory areas. Assist the Lab Manager as backup with maintaining appropriate stock levels and repair coordination. Gas Cylinder & Cryogenic Support Receive, inspect, and coordinate delivery of nitrogen, helium, argon, CO?, and other compressed gas cylinders. Replace and transport cylinders safely following all safety protocols. Serve as backup to lab managers for weekly NMR nitrogen tank filling. Ensure proper storage and compliance of compressed gases. Assist lab managers with inventory management Dry Ice Delivery Support Coordinate receipt and internal distribution of dry ice deliveries. Ensure proper handling and safety compliance for dry ice storage and transport. Communicate inventory levels to Lab Managers to prevent supply interruptions. Regulatory & Safety Compliance Handle hazardous, fragile, and temperature-sensitive materials in coordination with EHS lead and compliance with DOT, IATA, EH&S, and internal SOPs. Help site EHS and Lab Managers to maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance Follow all safety procedures related to compressed gases, cryogenics, and laboratory environments. On-time completion of required safety training. Ensure shipping/receiving and shared areas remain compliant with safety standards. Facilities & General Support Escort and coordinate vendors (gas suppliers, dry ice vendors, lab coat providers, equipment service personnel). Assist with equipment relocations, lab moves, and special projects. Support general upkeep of mechanical and support spaces. Assist Lab Management with asset tracking and capital equipment classification. Non-Hazardous waste management and coordination of bulk pick-ups Qualifications 13 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or laboratory support. Experience working in a regulated or laboratory environment preferred. Familiarity with shipping portals (FedEx, UPS, DHL). Ability to follow SOPs and maintain accurate documentation. Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to lift and move heavy packages and operate manual handling equipment (pallet jacks, carts). Preferred Qualifications Experience with inventory management systems is a plus. Experience supporting laboratory operations or life sciences environments. DOT and IATA hazardous materials shipping certification required; training will be provided by the company.
