Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 9 months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $55 - $60/hr Job Summary: The Senior Business Analyst supports
governance and portfolio management
activities for Electric & Gas Operations, including data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. This role is responsible for driving financial oversight, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and delivering insights to executive leadership.
The position requires strong analytical capabilities, experience with large datasets, and proficiency in reporting tools such as Power BI. Candidates must be local to the Bay Area and able to work in a hybrid environment with occasional onsite requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Support monthly governance cycles including data analysis, reporting, and executive presentations Drive annual budget adherence through financial change request processes Review risks and opportunities (overspend/underspend) and evaluate portfolio impact Collaborate with Finance, Portfolio Managers, and Business Operations teams Administer financial offset and prioritization processes for portfolio planning Develop and enhance reports, dashboards, and tools based on stakeholder needs Lead or support initiatives related to portfolio management and change control Organize and facilitate cross-functional meetings and present findings to leadership Monitor, prepare, and present financial and operational reports Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, technical field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of related experience in
business analysis or portfolio planning Strong experience with governance and change control processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint Experience with Power BI, paginated reports, and Power Apps Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience in utilities or energy sector Familiarity with SAP Work Management or SAP Business Warehouse (BW) Experience working with large datasets and data models Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial planning Experience collaborating across large teams Required Skills:
