Worship Director
Job Purpose:
To further the mission of MPBC by being a person of Christian character and integrity in leading our worship ministries. To assist the pastor/elders in planning and developing weekly services and growing the worship ministries at MPBC. To create an atmosphere of worship and teamwork among the praise team and choir members and all other areas of our worship ministries.

Qualifications
An intimate, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
A well-developed understanding of Scripture and a passion to make the Word of God known
A passion for prayer, setting the tone for prayer within the music and worship ministries
Formal education (preferred) or proven experience necessary to perform all the various aspects of this ministry, which include:
Instrumental and vocal competency (ability to read music) and understand the nuances of musical arrangements for praise teams and choirs
A depth of musical appreciation and expertise including contemporary worship, choir, and special event leadership
Good communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to encourage people
Preferred Qualifications
Technological understanding of Planning Center and Pro-Presenter
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Musical arrangement skills
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Pastors/Elders weekly regarding song selection and overall functioning of the worship ministries in the church. Must communicate well in a fast-paced environment
Lead and oversee all worship for Sunday and Wednesday services, upholding biblical principles and musical excellence so that Christ is glorified as our people experience Him
Communicate weekly music and production notes to the worship and production teams via Planning Center and email, including band/vocal parts and verbal communication for transitions
Lead weekly practices with the Praise Team and choir, as well as oversee children’s music ministries
Ensure the execution of the worship services and practices, set-up, rehearsal, and breakdown of stage and building
Oversee ongoing development of future staff and wise stewardship of hardware, software, internet, and engineering resources, including: audio, lighting, video, and media
Lead, guide, advise, and provide leadership for the staff and volunteers of this ministry
Lead the recruitment and development of new musicians and vocalists, organizing auditions, and ensuring the MPBC Volunteer Covenant is followed
Provide spiritual leadership to assure participants are growing spiritually as a direct result of their involvement in the worship ministries of the church
Develop and maintain a good working and collaborative relationship with the other Staff members and ministry leaders within the church.
Oversee music and worship needs for all areas of body life, including but not limited to funerals and weddings, as needed
Development of the strategic plans necessary for the expansion and continued growth of the worship ministries
Maintain overall leadership and oversight of the finances of the ministry by tracking and stewarding the department budget under the direction of the Pastors/Elders
Participate in the body-life of the church, being involved as a family in the other ministries and activities of the church
Teaching of musical lessons should be coordinated so as not to conflict with work schedules
Adherence to and embodiment of the requirements of the MPBC Employee Covenant and Code of Ethics
