Director of Maintenance

The Salem Housing Authority is seeking a dynamic Housing Champion for the leadership role of Director of Maintenance Operations to join our high performing team of professionals. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position oversees the management of Maintenance operations and Maintenance staffing at the Salem Housing Authority and as part of a management services agreement, the Marblehead Housing Authority. Supervision of Maintenance teams includes 15 plus Maintenance staff comprised of various positions and trades including an Operations and Facilities Manager. The public housing development portfolio is comprised of approximately 1,020 units. Must bring a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public housing authority Maintenance operations/supervision. An MPHA certification, PHM certification or a Massachusetts Maintenance Supervisor Certification (MMS) is highly desirable. Bilingual, Spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply and highly desirable. The position includes oversight of all work order operations, preventative maintenance, capital planning, modernization operations coordination, and extensive resident relations/coordination. As an integral member of the leadership team, the Director of Maintenance Operations will also be responsible for the oversight of Performance Management Reviews, Inspection Services, and the connection of services as they intertwine with the Property Management and Resident Services team members. Oversight of the Maintenance Budget and inventory/ operation equipment is also a key piece of the role. The position requires 24/7 on-call availability to support emergency services after hours and extensive reporting requirements for data management and Board reporting.
