Overview The AVP, Events will lead the strategic planning, development, and flawless execution of high-impact events across the firm. This role is ideal for a seasoned events professional with deep financial services experience, strong vendor management capabilities, and the ability to manage complex programs from ideation to delivery. The AVP will partner closely with marketing, communications, business leaders, and external partners to deliver experiences that elevate the brand and drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Event Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy aligned with firmwide business goals.
Lead end‑to‑end planning for conferences, client events, forums, sponsorship activations, internal meetings, and executive programs.
Build project plans, manage timelines, establish event KPIs, and oversee budget management.
Event Execution & Operations
Manage all aspects of event logistics including venue selection, staging, AV, registration, catering, travel, materials, staffing, and post‑event reporting.
Ensure high‑quality attendee experience and seamless delivery across all touchpoints.
Oversee risk mitigation, compliance review, and brand‑aligned execution.
Vendor & Partner Management
Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with venues, production teams, creative agencies, staffing, and technology vendors.
Drive cost savings and service excellence through strong negotiation and relationship management.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Communications, Sales, and Executive Leadership to align event programming with business objectives.
Build executive‑level presentations, agendas, run‑of‑show materials, and briefing documents.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
Track event performance metrics and ROI; compile post‑event analysis and recommendations.
Maintain accurate event budgets, reporting, and resource plans.
Required Qualifications
7+ years
of events management experience, with at least 3 years in financial services.
Proven ability to lead
complex, large-scale events
end‑to‑end.
Strong vendor negotiation skills and experience managing multimillion‑dollar budgets.
Expertise in event technology platforms (e.g., Cvent, Splash, CRM/registration tools).
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment.
Willingness and ability to travel
up to 40% .
