Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Established high-volume riverboat cruises and events company on River Street is looking for a full-time Marketing/Public Relations/Special Project Coordinator with experience in the hospitality industry. Responsible for planning and implementing marketing and advertising activities. You’ll also get the chance to take charge of producing marketing materials, including writing advertising copy and blog entries, posting to company and product social media accounts and creating email-marketing initiatives. Have a creative mind and the desire to push yourself to help build our brand identity from the inside out.
Job Description Maintain riverboat social media accounts (mainly Facebook & Instagram. YouTube and Tik Tok experience is a plus) - engage with our audience, answer questions, and post relevant and create meaningful content. STRONG VIDEO CONTENT CREATION IS A MUST!
Work with our graphic designer to produce print ads for various publications that we advertise with.
Work with our digital marketing firm regarding planning and implementing SEO strategies, conducting keyword research, and optimizing website content for better search engine rankings, etc.
Work with local radio and/ or news stations on any advertising opportunities
Production of scheduled e-blast (Mailchimp)
Production of monthly cruise calendar
Distribution of monthly cruise calendars (electronically and in person) and various other necessary marketing materials to area hotels and Georgia Visitor’s Centers
Production of marketing materials for holidays, company announcements, etc.
Assistance and/or coordination of holiday events
Attendance at industry luncheons (Buy Local, Tourism Leadership Council, etc.)
Attendance at after-hours industry functions.
Any other tasks assigned by management.
Establish and maintain relationships with local industry partners.
Establish and maintain relationships with local charities for partnership opportunities.
Respond to media inquiries for radio/tv spots or interviews
Issue news releases when necessary
Qualifications & Requirements Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Understanding and familiarity with Google Analytics to examine how our online marketing practices are working and make suggestions for changes based on your findings.
Strong analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude
Two or more years’ experience managing an online marketing program.
Proficiency in Excel.
Ability to work independently with general guidance.
Experience in editing and proofreading site content.
Past achievements in marketing may include: demand generation, social communities, blogs, video, and viral marketing.
Coordination of both internal and external development and design resources to ensure deadlines are met and creative materials are delivered on time.
Intermediate Photoshop and/or Canva, and Copywriting skills a must
