The Club at Crested Butte is seeking a First Assistant Golf Professional! Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.
Pay $27 per hour
General Purpose The First Assistant Golf Professional assists in and maintains all daily golf operations including, but not limited to, the golf shop, outside operations, retail point-of-sale, tee sheet, golf tournaments, golf instruction, and customer service. This position will embody The Club at Crested Butte’s standards of service excellence and member experience.
Essential Duties
Assists Head Golf Professional with day-to-day golf operations.
Administers retail point of sale transactions and revisions as they apply to green fees, merchandise, inventory, and Member/Guest billing.
Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in procedures, receives payments from Members and Guests, and communicates with the Accounting Department as needed.
Actively promotes all Club at Crested Butte activities, tournaments, hours of operation, and non-golf department events.
Assists in the creation of golf instruction content. Provides individual lessons, group instruction, and actively golfs with members.
Creates golf shop staff schedules and works closely with the Cart Barn Manager on outside operations scheduling.
Provides leadership to golf staff.
Organizes golf tournaments and weekly groups through efficient use of Golf Genius and GHIN administration tools.
Promotes and nurtures customer relations to enhance the quality of the golf experience.
Assists the Head Golf Professional with inventory counting and analyzing monthly department financial statements in comparison to the current budget.
Creates a customer service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of members. Ensures that staff members provide a high level of customer service.
Communicates with other department managers and staff.
Follows opening and closing standard operating procedures.
Actively helps train employees and provides workplace feedback when appropriate.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Performs other administrative and service duties as required.
Acts in place of the Head Golf Professional as needed.
Physical Demands
Physical activity and long periods (6–8 hours) of standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping.
Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
May work in outdoor weather conditions.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
3 or more years of golf industry experience.
Private country club work experience.
Requirements
Actively seeking or already possessing Class A PGA Membership.
Working knowledge of Northstar Point-of-Sale systems and tee time systems.
Ability to work extended hours during golf and holiday seasons.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Maintains a credible golf game.
Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Possesses high ethical standards.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
