Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Train, mentor, and supervise shipping and receiving team members.
Manage inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies and process returns.
Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and packaging of outgoing shipments.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols within the department.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of inventory management systems and best practices.
Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, and carrier procedures.
Ability to train and mentor team members and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Forklift certification and experience operating various types of forklifts
- Familiarity with import/export documentation and customs procedures
- Basic understanding of inventory management software and ERP systems
