Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Train and mentor shipping and receiving team members, providing guidance and support.
Manage inventory levels within the shipping and receiving areas, conducting regular cycle counts.
Coordinate with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments, negotiating rates and scheduling pickups.
Ensure all shipments are properly documented, labeled, and prepared according to company and carrier standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving department.
Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to incoming or outgoing goods.
Implement and improve shipping and receiving processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software and shipping/receiving systems.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, and logistics.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, and operate material handling equipment.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Basic understanding of inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP)
Knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation
