Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Representative, Specialty Coatings. This person will be responsible for supporting the growth of new business and sales revenue through relationship building with technical engineers, business owners, and various key personnel. The focus will be on manufacturing, utility and industrial accounts and known applicators. The Applications Sales Representative will be responsible for conducting market analysis and sales forecasting, influencing brand awareness across the industry, and driving sales.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance on coating systems, including polyurea, polyurethane, epoxy, and specialty protective linings. Recommend appropriate coating systems based on substrate, environment, and performance requirements. Assist customers with application parameters, surface preparation standards, and equipment configuration. Interpret technical data sheets (TDS), safety data sheets (SDS), and specification documents.
Assist with project estimation, prepare project quotations, material takeoffs, and cost estimates. Support bid preparation and specification compliance for contractors and municipalities. Coordinate pricing with sales management, distributors, and supply chain teams. Track quote-to-order conversion rates and follow‑up activities.
Customer Engagement & Sales Support Serve as the primary inside contact for contractors, licensees, distributors, and OEM partners. Qualify inbound leads and convert them into opportunities. Conduct product presentations, virtual demonstrations, and technical discussions with customers. Support outside sales team by developing proposals, technical responses, and application guidance.
Manage accurate CRM records of customer activity, pipeline, and follow‑up and monitor inventory availability and customer forecast requirements.
Assist customers, engineers, and contractors with the best application practices, troubleshooting. Support field teams and technical service staff when complex application issues arise.
Engage with accounts on submittal packages, technical approvals, and specification inclusion. Identify opportunities to convert competitive systems to company technologies.
Develop or assist with application guides, technical bulletins, and FAQs.
Support certification programs for applicators or installers.
Required Skills / Abilities
Computer programs and CRMs such as HubSpot, Monday, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office products
Effective communicator, including the ability to assimilate within an existing team and manage key relationships with sales team members.
Successful records exceeding key performance indicators leading to successful portfolio growth and expansion is critical in this role.
Results driven with a focus on executing and meeting sales goals, being cost effective and conscious, and having integrity in the position, making accurate and timely decisions.

Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in coatings systems and applications (Paints, Primers, Polyurea, Epoxies, Polyurethanes)
High School Diploma/ associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Effective communication and people skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
Initiative‑taking with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive company results.
Willing to travel 20% of the time to meet with clients, and to attend industry events and trade shows.
