Inside Sales Associate

Location Los Angeles, CA (RDA) – Welding equipment rental

Job Summary Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Inside Sales Associate assists with daily branch operations and ensures rental equipment availability for orders.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe working environment following Airgas/Red‑D‑Arc health and safety guidelines.

Provide excellent customer service to all accounts.

Follow up on leads received via web, associations, etc.

Handle walk‑in customers promptly, including equipment returns.

Process credit card charges.

Communicate daily with Outside Sales Associates regarding inquiries and orders.

Prepare quotes for outside sales and fax to clients as required.

Coordinate equipment requirements for efficient order fulfillment and cost containment.

Plan and direct customer orders with the service department.

Communicate with the service department and/or shop supervisor regarding equipment shipments and arrange orders for shipment.

Generate rental agreements and associated documents.

Arrange freight and transportation.

Assist with vendor purchasing.

Assist with parts and equipment inventories.

Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Post‑secondary education equivalent to a college diploma.

Strong leadership skills: guide, mentor, delegate, and follow up effectively.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently and make decisions based on company policies and objectives.

Proactive and methodical problem‑solving skills in challenging situations.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of customer service in an industrial/rental environment.

Knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications, and equipment.

Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.

Ability to build relationships with customers and co‑workers.

Sales experience in industrial equipment rental or welding equipment sales/rental.

Capability to multi‑task and work independently with little supervision.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment.

Critical decision‑making following company procedures.

Proactive problem‑solving.

Adaptability in prioritizing work with varying exceptions.

Ability to work with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

Clear verbal communication in one‑on‑one or group situations; telephone communication.

Strong written communication skills.
