GCMS Marketing Intern – Location: Columbia, MD – Schedule: 20 Hours per week | June-August 2026 – Salary: $18–$20 per hour

Position Summary: Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a

GCMS Marketing Intern

to support the GCMS Marketing team through application‑focused method development and workflow optimization initiatives. In this role, you will assist with refining analytical workflows, evaluating identification strategies, collecting instrument performance data, and documenting findings from laboratory studies. You will also contribute to technical documentation and marketing‑aligned materials that support global application development efforts.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Assist with collection and analysis of instrument performance data

Support method development and method transfer studies

Work directly with laboratory instrumentation to support application‑focused projects

Analyze experimental results and document findings in a clear, organized format

Contribute to preparation of technical documentation, presentations, and marketing‑aligned materials

Support development of application‑focused content used by internal teams and customers

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline

Experience or coursework involving gas chromatography‑mass spectrometry (GCMS)

Familiarity with analytical laboratory practices and scientific instrumentation

Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation skills

Experience with Shimadzu instrumentation is a plus
