Job Overview: We are actively seeking a seasoned Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Manager to oversee Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) builds across Idaho markets. This direct hire role requires a hands‑on, open to 50% travel‑ready professional with at least 5 years of experience supervising subcontractors on aerial and underground fiber construction projects. The OSP CM will be responsible for field‑level leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day‑to‑day construction oversight of aerial and underground FTTH installations across multiple sites in the regions.
Manage subcontractors and field crews, holding them accountable to performance, safety, and quality benchmarks.
Travel to project locations statewide to perform on‑site audits, progress checks, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with internal project managers, engineers, and permitting teams to coordinate resources and schedules.
Monitor and report on daily/weekly production, including materials, labor, and field conditions.
Enforce construction standards, environmental compliance, and health/safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
Review construction prints, redlines, and as‑built documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence.
Support field onboarding of new subcontractors and ensure they meet training and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience managing subcontractors on OSP FTTH aerial and underground projects.
Strong understanding of fiber construction standards, pole line work, directional drilling, and permitting processes.
Ability to read construction drawings and interpret job scopes with minimal oversight.
Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, construction tracking tools, and basic GIS systems.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to travel daily and stay overnight as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 10/30 certification or similar safety training.
Experience with local municipalities, utility companies, and permit offices.
Previous roles involving QA/QC, OSP inspection, or splicing are a plus.
