Position Overview The purpose of this position is to assist the Court in the judicial process of assessing and collecting fees, fines, and costs to ensure compliance with court orders and increase collection rates.

Responsibilities

Issue and distribute warrants.

Provide customer service and maintain files.

Collect in past‑due accounts, engage in collections with F.A.R.E.

Perform diversified clerical work and place delinquent cases into collections.

Answer inquiries on cases regarding fines, fees, payments, due dates, warrants, suspensions, and compliance.

Receive and process court payments, issue receipts, and reschedule court dates.

Update address and phone information and process bonds to appropriate folders.

Enter payment information into the computer system.

Receive and examine legal documents for sufficiency, completeness, conformity, jurisdiction, and validity before acceptance.

Certify or file documents, open court cases in the court system, and prepare document files.

File various legal documents and related case materials, search for missing files, copy materials requested from files, and send them to individuals or agencies.

Update, scan, and purge files as per procedures.

Track data in an automated case‑management system and query the automated docket to provide case information.

Assist the public on the phone or at the counter with court forms, document‑filing procedures, and technical/legal/judicial procedures.

Receive and complete orders for services/materials, evaluate need, and direct calls to the appropriate office.

Explain fees and fines to individuals.

Respond to inquiries from the public, attorneys, witnesses, and law‑enforcement representatives.

Research case status, documents, rules, procedures, and codes.

Make copies of files and requests in accordance with department policy.

Compute, classify, and post fees/fines for criminal, traffic, and civil cases.

Issue receipts, post, and reconcile account records for daily activity.

Analyze, docket, index, and process legal documents, judgments, and minute entries; prepare legal documentation per court orders, rules, and statutes.

Compose correspondence to defendants, law enforcement, attorneys, and other entities.

Use office equipment such as copiers, cash registers, scanners, and computers.

Have knowledge of computer software such as Word and Excel.

Compose written documents, prepare routine reports, and correspondence related to official court actions.

Perform other duties as assigned.
