
Bilingual Customer Service Representative II

Summary
Responsible for providing entry-level day-to-day administrative and business support to EWS Department and carrying out administrative responsibilities as established through departmental needs.
Pay Range $15.54–$19.25 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Work Schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Staff is rotated to work on some Saturdays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process customer transactions utilizing specialized scale software.
Accurately record weights of incoming waste and monitor incoming loads for unauthorized waste.
Conduct charge, check, and cash customer transactions.
Inspect conditions in scale house and surrounding area for appearance, cleanliness, and safety.
Provide entry level day-to-day administrative and business support.
Respond to basic citizen inquiries through answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication and direct calls and inquiries to appropriate personnel.
Ensure customer compliance with facility rules and notify supervisors of violations as necessary.
Prepare and maintain office files, including office filing.
Collect and organize data to generate reports, presentations, and assist with research and projects.
Maintain department accounting records including invoices, expenses, and office supply orders.
May send, receive, and distribute documents, including faxes and correspondence to appropriate department personnel and customers.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
Up to 1 year related experience
Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Work Environment This position is based in a landfill scale house and involves a combination of customer‑facing service and administrative work. Employees regularly interact in person with residents, contractors, and commercial customers while also performing desk‑based tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Up to 1 year advanced study or training beyond the high school level
1-2 years administrative experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic skills in PC and systems application
Good customer service and telephone etiquette skills
Good organizational skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to adapt to various working environments
Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
Ability to work under close supervision
Bilingual
Licenses and Certifications Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. The incumbent will be required to stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
