Champions Golf Club is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our leadership team and help maintain championship‑level playing conditions while developing as a turf professional and leader.
Our History Champions Golf Club was founded in 1957 by World Golf Hall of Fame members Jack Burke Jr. and Jimmy Demaret and has a long‑standing tradition of hosting premier professional and amateur competitions.
The club has hosted multiple USGA championships, including the 1969 U.S. Open, 1993 U.S. Amateur, 1998 U.S. Women’s Mid‑Amateur, 2017 U.S. Women’s Mid‑Amateur, and the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open.
Champions also hosted the 1967 Ryder Cup, where the United States team, led by Ben Hogan, secured a record 15‑point victory.
In addition, the club has been the site of five PGA Tour events, with champions including David Duval, Mike Weir, and Tiger Woods. Champions also hosted the Houston Champions International (formerly the Shell Houston Open) multiple times, with winners such as Roberto De Vicenzo, Hubert Green, and Arnold Palmer.
The club has also hosted two Southern Amateur Championships, where future major champions Ben Crenshaw and Bob Tway earned victories.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily course operations
Irrigation monitoring, scheduling, repair, and program management
Employee recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and development.
Chemical and Fertilizer applications and record keeping
Support budgeting and purchasing and payroll administration
Qualifications
2 or 4 year degree or certificate in Turfgrass or a related field
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Hands‑on leadership mindset
Ability to obtain Texas pesticide license within 3 months
Desire to grow in the industry
